Helm's Deep Cosmetics Part 2: Crafted Armor

Now that the NDA has been lifted, I can share these crafted armor sets with all of you!

In each set, you'll have views from the front, side and back. At the far right of each set, you'll be able to see what areas change color when dyed. For the sake of viewing ease, I've chosen a bright red. Beneath each picture is the name of the set, what armor class it belongs to, and the level to equip it.

Enjoy!

Westemnet Campaign Armor (crafted light set, level 90)

Assault Armour of the Deep (crafted light set, level 95)

Westemnet Skirmish Armor (crafted medium set, level 90)

Combat Armour of the Deep (crafted medium set, level 95)

Westemnet Battle Armour (crafted heavy set, level 90)

War Armour of the Deep (crafted heavy set, level 95)

I'm fairly impressed with the designs, but some of them are too close to each other. For example, the difference in appearance in the medium sets is simply a matter of scales versus leather. It would have been great to see a little more diversity between sets. That put aside, I'm glad to see some new cosmetics!

If I have a chance in the future, I'll start working on a landscape/barter gear post.

Oh dear! I almost forgot to share the cloaks with you. Mind you, as I last saw these cloaks, they were all part of the level 90 Westemnet Cloak recipe. There are five possible outputs, but the first three had different appearances. The last two currently look like the level 80 Eastemnet Cloak and that could very well change. Anyway, here are the first three unique outputs!

Westemnet Cloak of Battle

Westemnet Cloak of Perseverance

Westemnet Cloak of Deftness
And, by the way, we have a NEW DYE COLOR for the Westemnet tier. It's called "walnut brown" and the color falls somewhere between umber and black on the game's color scale.

  1. I'm excited to have a new dye colour! I've been hoping for a darker brown for ages. Too bad it's just the one new colour. I had so many other hopes and dreams *sob*

Great preview, thank you Nathrien! By the way, is there a Helm's Deep Cosmetics part 1?

    1. I'm glad we finally have a new color as well. Can't wait to try it out when the expansion goes live! I too had been hoping for a few more new dyes. And for your question, there was a part one. It was for the pre-order cosmetics and the Steed of the Hammerhand.

    2. Oh right, the pre-order stuff. I'm a bit slow on the uptake. :P Thanks Nathrien!

  2. My human characters will look great in these. I'm glad to see Turbine is not cutting corners (design-wise) with crafted armor. Thank you for sharing!

    1. You're welcome! These new skins do seem best for human characters. Elves don't have nearly as many problems with these as they did with the Eastemnet gear, which is a good sign.

  3. I can't wait to use the walnut dye A LOT, and also to be able to craft the light 95, medium and heavy 90 and first and last cloak. Thanks so much for posting the preview Nathrien!

    1. You're welcome! It's definitely going to be great to have another brown to use. I somehow foresee a ton of ranger/hunter style outfits around Middle-earth in that color.

  4. Thanks for the preview Nathrien! Too bad the reputation gained from the crafted Guild Tokens has been reduced considerably, so even with a pile of tokens ready it will take me a while to get to these recipes! :(

PS: For some reason I'm always struggling to post comments on blogspot. They disappear unexpectedly, don't get through or lost in the process. Meh :(

    1. You're welcome for the preview! The rep reduction from those guild symbols had me worried a bit. I started my symbol crafting a few weeks ago that way I could get ahead of the game, but I still think I'll fall short. It's going to take a substantial amount of crafting to reach Westemnet master in any of the professions on top of it! 840 exp for the base tier and 1640 exp for the master tier, I believe.

And as for commenting on blogspot, you're not the only one running into problems. If I disable the image/word generators, my blog will start looking like Freyjuska's again. I was hit hard with spam posts about the time LOTRO Fashion was and it took a while to clean up. I don't know why, but that safety measure is what's getting in the way of replying.
